Microsoft will no longer release security patches and updates for its Windows XP operating system as of April 8, 2014, which means that 29 percent of the desktop computers and laptops worldwide are on the edge of becoming vulnerable to attacks in approximately 11 days.
Twenty-nine percent is a pretty good number of computers that will become vulnerable. If Microsoft wants people to upgrade to Windows 7, they should offer to give current XP Operating System customers discounts for the software.
Technology keeps on moving and you really have to stay up-to-date with the new operating systems and software. The successor to Windows XP is Windows 7, which I had no complaints about at all. However, I did go ahead and upgrade to Windows 8.1 to try to stay ahead of the curve.
What are your thoughts about Windows XP and the current situation? What operating system do you have?
